What we collect, and what we do with it.

Who we are
Morning Courier (morningcourier.co.uk) is published by Just Media Network Pty Ltd, an Australian company (ABN 62 638 812 236), of Level 1, 120 Spencer Street, Melbourne VIC 3000, Australia. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal information when you use this website and when you receive our emails.
What we collect
- Waitlist and subscription details — your email address and the city you tell us you live in.
- Messages you send us — your name, email address and the content of your message when you use the contact form.
- Email engagement — once the newsletter launches, whether an edition was delivered, opened or clicked, so we can keep the list healthy and stop sending to addresses that no longer want it.
- Technical information — our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability.
How we use it
To send you the newsletter you asked for, to tell you when it launches in your city, to answer your messages, and to understand which parts of the publication readers value. We do not sell personal information and we do not share your details with advertisers or sponsors. Sponsors see audience statistics in aggregate, never individual readers.
Under the UK GDPR our lawful basis for sending you the newsletter is your consent, which you give by joining the list and can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing. Our lawful basis for keeping a record of that consent, and for answering your messages, is our legitimate interest in running the publication.
Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately. We send marketing email only to people who have asked for it, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). Our emails are delivered by third-party email service providers who process your address on our behalf.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not currently set analytics or advertising cookies. If we add analytics in future, this policy will say so and what is collected.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of providers to run the site and the newsletter: website hosting and form handling (Netlify), DNS and security (Cloudflare), and email delivery platforms. Each processes personal information only as needed to provide its service to us. Some of these providers store data outside United Kingdom, including in Australia, the United States and the European Union.
Storage and security
Your details are stored with the providers above under their security controls, and access is limited to the people who run the publication. We keep subscription data for as long as you are subscribed and for a short period afterwards to honour your unsubscribe, and messages for as long as needed to deal with them.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you can:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct it
- Ask us to delete it
- Unsubscribe from our emails at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe your privacy has been breached
To exercise any of these rights, use the contact form or reply to any email we send you.
Children
The newsletter is written for adults and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the newsletter and update the date at the top of this page.
